Stuck on the loading screen while everyone else are fine ? Try these steps: 

  1. Simultaneously press the windows key and the R key 
  2. Write in the Execute tab %localappdata%/DayZ then press the enter key 
  3. Delete everything inside the DayZ Folder Including The Other Folders

Sorting Keybinds manually

C:/Users/"YourUsernameHere"/Documents/DayZ/"YourUsernameHere".dayz_preset_User.xml Open with notepad++ to setup keybinds in unsorted category.
This also helps with them resetting when joining other servers!

DZSA - alternative DayZ Launcher

Go to https://dayzsalauncher.com/#/ and download it

After downloading, open it and head to settings to add your path to DayZ.exe. Additionally, you can also tick some of the launch options below it but google what they do before you tick them!. After, set you Ingame name and tick "Run As Admin" 

Verifying all mods. Force updates all mods downloaded. This process can take a long time!

To force updates on specific mods using DZSA, simply head into "Mods" section, type in the mod name and SPAMM the verify button for a short time until the mod starts updating. If nothing happens, then the mod is up to date. If you're unsure which mods are outdated, you can also verify all at once, but this takes a lot longer as it goes through every single mod.

Compile Error

First check all your harddrives for multiple DayZ installations as steam sometimes does that for some reason. 1 Harddrive will stay unused and outdated while still being loaded in from time to time, causing errors like this which indicate trying to load a mod that has since been changed/updated.

 If theres mutliple installations, check via steam which one steam uses, by right clickling it inside the steam library and checking local files, which opens the folder for you to see the path. (For example it was installed on D: drive and C: drive, steam leads me to C: drive so i deleted all dayZ folders in D: drive) 

After that, head to the vanilla launcher and search for "Iconic". Delete all Iconic Mods you can find.  
Then simply restart steam, join the server again and steam will automatically download all needed mods which will be only the current updated ones. 

"AuthPlayerLoginState"

Warning (0x00040031) Login error: Login timed out.

Usually, this error occurs when you try to log in while your character is still ingame (logging in fast after logging out)
But this is also a "generall" error, often times caused by steam especially on Tuesday Evenings GMT time as thats Steam's weekly maintenance causing disruptions.
The solution here is to simply try over and over until it works.

"Client/Server has a more recent version"

Warning (0x00040093) You were kicked off the game. Data verification error: ,... Please Update, if that fails: Please verify the integrity of your game files and/or reinstall the game

This error pops up when you try to join the server while either you or the server's mod is outdated. The message will tell you which party needs to update their mod. In the example picture, it mentions the server having a more recent version, meaning you have to update the mod mentioned in the message (indicated by @ symbol, in this case @Dabs Framework)

If it mentions your client having a more recent version, then you simply need to wait until the server updates, which is between 5 and 20 minutes after this error message

"Client is missing a mod which is on the server"

"Client is using a mod which is not on the server"

Warning (0x00040073) You were kicked off the game. Data verification error: ,... The server sets the modlist. Please join through the launcher and select "SETUP DLCS AND MODS AND JOIN" to load the mods the server uses.

This error pops up when you try to join the server loading an old or faulty modlist. This often happens when mods are added and/or removed after a server restart, as all launchers roughly need 10-15 minutes to update the modlist, causing players joining too early to still load the old modlist.

An easy and quick solution is to wait 5 minutes after this error and restarting steam.

"Data verification error"

"An unknown error has occured"

Warning (0x00040060) You were kicked off the game. Data verification error: An unknown error has occured.

This is a difficult one as this error message is used for all sorts of problems. It could be

  • Your network acting up
  • Steam shutting down while the game loads up
  • Steam having no connection
  • Server network problems (if everyone is experiencing this)
  • Server Ddos
  • Battleye issues


There is no definitive answer, so it's always best to ask in general chat in discord to see if it's on your end or the server's end.
